No unwelcome tasks become any the less unwelcome by putting them off till tomorrow. It is only when they are behind us and done, that we begin to find that there is a sweetness to be tasted afterwards, and that the remembrance of unwelcome duties unhesitatingly done is welcome and pleasant. Accomplished, they are full of blessing, and there is a smile on their faces as they leave us. Undone, they stand threatening and disturbing our tranquility, and hindering our communion with God. If there be lying before you any bit of work from which you shrink, go straight up to it, and do it at once. The only way to get rid of it is to do it.

quick, buy tickets to when the rain stops falling. but don't watch the trailer! it gives away too much
also,
the next 4 years might look like
2010-2011: master of teaching, primary school stream
2012-2013: howard guiness project (i.e. being a staffworker with the eu at uni)
and p.s. an article on atheism.
not that i necessarily agree with all her sentiments/tone. but interesting. |

| thursday 7th may |

this morning i cried angry tears when my bus inexplicably passed me by, and i realised i was (hypocritically, unkindly, selfishly) angry at someone for being sick and 'letting me down'.
i was bewildered at how this could be good for me, or the kingdom, or God's glory; and then got a msg which would've been so frustrating to get had i gotten on that bus and already been on my way to uni.
then i led eu small group and ran overtime, and was rebuked for my annoyance at my own bible study running late last night.
then i waited outside fisher library for a meeting with someone who never came or picked up or replied, and i was relieved because i was looking for an excuse not to do work.
today i was at uni for 10 hours. 3 of which were in class, 3 of which were with eu things, 4 of which i pretty much wasted.
thursdays are a big part of my week.
p.s. God surrounds me with people who point me to Christ and are so kind and thoughtful. amazing! |
